Tubal ligation reversal surgery or Tubal recanalization surgery is to reopen, untie, or reconnect a woman’s fallopian tubes so that she can become pregnant again.
Tubal ligation reversal surgery is done under General Anesthesia or Spinal Anaesthesia, depending on wheather you opt for laparoscopy or open surgery respectively and it means patient will be pain-free during surgery. The surgery usually takes about one to one and half hours.
Recovery after the surgery is good as very less dissection is required during the procedure.
Success rate depends on the kind of surgery performed previously. If surgery was done by tubectomy method (ligation and cutting the fallopian tube) then success rate is around 70-80% and if previous surgery was done with laparoscopy, then success rate is as high as 95%.
