Labiaplasty simply means a labia reduction procedure. It is an aesthetic surgery of the female genitalia. Normally, the average length of the inner labia of females (between 18 to 50 age group) is between 61 mm. But, reports hint that labia upto 100mm is also recorded.
Many females feel discomfort because of a hanging labia or it is too big. They feel uneasiness when wearing undergarments.
Most patient prefer labiaplasty to reduce the length of the labia as they experience discomfort or are simply unsatisfied with the way their labia looks. Many women develop the problem after childbirth or as they age. Women with a fatty vaginal lips, they can safely undergo liposuction of that area.

The benefits are numerous. Women who have done with the procedure often feel more confident in their sexuality. Experience increased arousal and satisfaction in many cases. The confidence boost comes from the fact that the vaginal area is rejuvenated and made to look and feel like it did when a woman was younger.

Generally, there are two basic surgical techniques used in Labiaplasty surgery, the trim method and the wedge method.

The procedure involves removing the inner lips of the vulva fully so that only the outer lips are visible. In other words, it makes the genitalia of real life women look like Barbie’s. Labiaplasty – the surgical trimming of the inner lips of the vulva and reconstruction of the appearance of the vagina –is on the rise.
The real reason labiaplasty is going gangbusters is that women and girls have become more concerned about the aesthetic appeal of their baby making parts. This has been prompted, at least in part, by the fact

that our society’s view of what ‘normal’ even looks like has been vastly distorted. This leaves many women feeling insecure about what their vaginas look like. Commonly cited insecurities include being worried that their vulva in uneven or unsymmetrical, or thinking the inner labia is too long.

After Labiaplasty surgery there will be some discomfort and swelling. You can expect 80% of the swelling to subside by the end of the first week. The remaining swelling should be gone by 6 weeks.
